Services

Ms. Concannon advises individuals and corporate clients on all aspects of litigation at both the state and federal level. Her practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis on bankruptcy litigation. Ms. Concannon works to protect the rights and interests of tort claimants and other creditors in mass tort bankruptcies.  Currently, Ms. Concannon represents creditor groups and committees and a trust in a number of asbestos, talc, and pharmaceutical bankruptcies, including In re Purdue Pharma L.P., In re Mallinckrodt plc, In re DBMP LLC, In re Aldrich Pump LLC, In re Whittaker, Clark & Daniels, Inc., and In re Valves & Controls US, Inc.

Ms. Concannon is experienced in a variety of practice areas, including in contractual disputes, fraud, structured finance, cross-border litigation and arbitration, intellectual property, and internal and governmental investigations.  

Ms. Concannon’s representations include:

  • representing the official committee of tort claimants in a bankruptcy through which the debtors’ solvent parent company sought to resolve hundreds of thousands of tort claims, which resulted in a favorable ruling dismissing the bankruptcy;
  • representing a foreign sugar manufacturer in an action against a major U.S. bank involving complex financial products that resulted in a favorable settlement mid-trial;
  • representing a bankrupt foreign cinema company in a contract dispute that resulted in a favorable ruling following an evidentiary hearing that was confirmed on appeal;
  • advising a foreign company in connection with an OFAC investigation that resulted in no penalties to the client;
  • representing a self-driving technology development company in a highly publicized lawsuit for the misappropriation of trade secrets that resulted in a favorable settlement mid-trial;
  • representing a proposed class of investors in interest rate swaps who alleged that major dealer banks conspired to prevent the development of competition in the market, which resulted in multi-million dollar settlements;
  • representing a federal agency in claims against major banks that arose out of collapsed mortgage-backed securities and resulted in recoveries of over $25 billion;
  • representing the official committee of unsecured creditors in one of the largest bankruptcies in history seeking the return of billions of dollars in cash collateral that resulted in a favorable settlement; and
  • representing holders of hundreds of millions of dollars in bank debt and bonds in connection with lawsuits against a major bank, accounting firm, and equipment manufacturing company, which resulted in a favorable settlement.

Highlights

Ms. Concannon has been an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center since 2021, where she teaches two litigation-focused courses: Civil Discovery in Federal Courts, and Breaking Privilege:  An In-Depth Analysis of Privilege Issues in the Context of Civil Litigation. She also previously taught a course on cross-border litigation.

Prior to joining Caplin & Drysdale, Ms. Concannon practiced complex commercial litigation and investigations at an international law firm in Washington, D.C. and New York. Ms. Concannon received her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center, and her bachelor’s degree from New York University, where she double-majored in linguistics and psychology with honors, and was a Nathan Ends Scholar and a member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Psi Chi honor societies.
