Caplin & Drysdale Welcomes Shamara James
Caplin & Drysdale welcomes Shamara James as an Associate in the firm's Complex Litigation, Bankruptcy, and Exempt Organization practice groups.
Ms. James represents individuals, corporations, and nonprofits on an array of litigation and exempt organizations matters. Her practice centers around advising clients on corporate restructuring and reorganization. In addition, Ms. James guides clients through the Chapter 11 process.
Ms. James earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut and her law degree from Cornell Law School. During law school, she served as the Managing Editor of the Cornell International Law Journal. Ms. James also served as President of the Black Law Students Association and was a Scholar in the 1L LCLD Scholars Program. In the first half of 2017, she worked as an extern at the Nassau Suffolk Law Services where she provided free legal services.
