October 1, 2021

Caplin & Drysdale is pleased to announce that two attorneys have been promoted to Member of the firm effective October 1, 2021. Congratulations to Kevin Davis and Sharon Want!

Kevin M. Davis
Complex Litigation | Bankruptcy

Kevin Davis' principal practice area is complex commercial litigation, with a particular emphasis on creditors' rights and bankruptcy litigation. He has considerable experience representing official creditors' committees in asbestos, talc, and pharmaceutical mass tort bankruptcies. Mr. Davis also represents individual and corporate clients in a diverse range of bankruptcy litigation matters and non-bankruptcy matters in state and federal courts across the country. He has substantial experience representing and advising exempt organizations, including charities, labor organizations, and trade associations in complex litigation and regulatory matters, and representing corporate clients in government investigations, litigation, and arbitration involving anti-corruption, government contracting, and antitrust issues.

Sharon P. Want
Exempt Organizations

Sharon Want provides practical comprehensive legal advice to tax-exempt organizations.  She has counseled nonprofits for 20 years, rejoining Caplin & Drysdale after serving as in-house counsel at the American Cancer Society, where she advised on legal issues involving ACS's global health and government-funded programs and ACS’s 501(c)(4) affiliate, American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network.  Ms. Want also served as a senior advisor to the IRS Director of Exempt Organizations.  She works closely with a wide range of small and large public charities, private foundations and social welfare organizations, and she regularly provides counsel on tax compliance and governance issues.  Her goal is to help her clients identify, understand and decide how to address legal issues.  Ms. Want has significant experience representing organizations before the IRS, whether they are under examination or applying for exemption or a ruling.
