Caplin & Drysdale Mourns the Passing of Daniel Rosenbaum

Firm Release

Caplin & Drysdale is saddened to announce the passing of Daniel “Dan” B. Rosenbaum over the weekend. Mr. Rosenbaum joined Caplin & Drysdale in 1972 and was one of the original shareholders when the Firm was incorporated in 1981. His practice focused on general business tax, employment tax, and tax controversy matters including tax audits, IRS Appeals Office proceedings, technical advice and ruling requests to the IRS National Office, and regulations projects with the Treasury Department.

Along with Mr. Rosenbaum stellar legal career, he spent many years in various management roles helping guide the Firm to become what it is today.  Prior to joining Caplin and Drysdale, he was with the Tax Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, where he represented the Government in tax cases before the U.S. Courts of Appeals. Mr. Rosenbaum also served as an Adjunct Professor at the Georgetown University Law School and served on joint industry/IRS task forces to develop audit guidelines for industry-wide issues.

We extend our sympathies to the Rosenbaum’s family.
