Matthews, a former CI chief now in private practice with Caplin and Drysdale, said the IRS maintains a database with millions of records and Bank Secrecy Act forms, including suspicious activity reports, currency transaction reports, reports from casinos, foreign bank account reporting forms, and Forms 8300, "Report of Cash Payments Over $10,000 Received in a Trade or Business."
