This panel will provide an update on recent guidance from the Internal Revenue Service and Treasury Department and will discuss recent developments at the IRS Office of Professional Responsibility. Topics to be covered will include proposed changes to the rules under Circular 230 governing written tax advice, the D.C. Circuit's decision in Loving v. Commissioner, the status of guidance projects included on the Priority Guidance Plan, and recently published final determinations in OPR disciplinary proceedings.
