Caplin & Drysdale Welcomes Ann Weber Langley

July 15, 2020

Caplin & Drysdale welcomes Ann Weber Langley as Of Counsel in the firm's Complex Litigation and Bankruptcy practice groups. Ms. Langley first joined the firm as an Associate from 2012-2014 and returned in 2020 as Of Counsel, bringing to the firm experience in complex financial litigation and high-stakes government investigations, as well as federal prosecutorial experience during her time in government service.

Ms. Langley's primary area of practice is Complex Litigation, where she plays an integral role in representing a diverse range of clients, including financial institutions and official creditors’ committees. Ms. Langley has substantial experience in all phases of litigation, including investigating, bringing to trial, and arguing appeals on behalf of individual, corporate, and nonprofit clients.  She has appeared in state and district courts across the country and has participated in investigations across the globe.

In the bankruptcy and creditors’ rights arena, Ms. Langley has played an instrumental role representing creditor constituencies in several notable mass-tort bankruptcies, including:

  • The Yarway asbestos bankruptcy, which resulted in a confirmed plan of reorganization and a Section 524(g) asbestos trust funded with hundreds of millions of dollars to compensate asbestos victims; and
  • The City Homes lead-paint bankruptcy, which resulted in a confirmed pass-through plan of liquidation.

Ms. Langley has been acknowledged for her continuous commitment to pro bono, including as a frequent recipient of the Capital Pro Bono High Honor Roll and honoree of the Legal Aid Society Pro Bono Publico Award.
